Throughout the story of Soul City, God has continually exceeded what we thought was possible. He has made a way when we could not see one, provided when we did not know how, and opened doors we had prayed about for years.
Pastors Jeanne and Jarrett gather a group of friends and prospective Soul City families at the Wit Hotel in downtown Chicago. For the first time the vision is shared publicly.
The Searls Family generously make their property available rent-free for two years—an Only God miracle!
We gather new gifts, books and coats and make them available at a greatly reduced price, kicking off partnerships that continue for years to come.
With a Sunday night service we open our doors to the city of Chicago and introduce our mission of leading people into a transforming relationship with Jesus.
Joel and Kate Miller are the first couple baptized at Soul City. Hundreds and hundreds more would soon follow.
At the two-year mark, steady growth lets us put a down payment on our building, and a faithful group of angel investors purchase the land next door.
At our fifth anniversary we begin a faith-raising adventure to build a Transformation Center on the adjacent land.
We celebrate our new 780-seat auditorium and make the new facilities available to our community seven days a week.
Alpha arrives: an 11-week course creating space to explore conversations about faith, life and God. Our community responds with incredible enthusiasm.
The vision is shared to launch two new churches, to the west and to the north. Due to the global pandemic, the vision is put on pause.
We renovate the northwest side of our building to walk alongside people when life is hard, with resources, referrals and relationships for anyone who is hurting.
We announce a new five-year vision and declare together that God is more than able to fulfill it.
We begin praying a courageous question: “God, what is the Greater Thing You want to do in me and through me?” Our church responds with extraordinary faith and generosity.
We believed reaching more people meant launching another location—there was nowhere for our West Loop home to expand. Then God opened a door we’d prayed about for nearly 15 years, right next door.
Through your generosity we purchase 125 S. Racine for $3.2 million in cash. No loan. No debt. God wasn’t confusing the vision. He was clarifying it.
Our team began dreaming. Plans began taking shape. And a new vision emerged for what God could do through our entire church at Adams + Racine. More room for more people to encounter Jesus.

More people are coming, praying, finding community, and experiencing transformation.
And we believe this is only the beginning.
Every number represents a person. Every person has a story. Every story is evidence of a God who is transforming lives.
Then God opened a door right next door. With the purchase of 125 S. Racine, we can now create more space for people to gather, grow, connect, and encounter Jesus.
THIS ISN’T ABOUT BEING BIGGER. IT IS ABOUT MAKING ROOM FOR WHAT GOD IS ALREADY DOING.
These are the problems we prayed for.
Immeasurably More is about creating the capacity to welcome more people, make more room for transformation, and prepare our church for what we believe God is doing next.
More people. More room. More transformation.An auditorium twice the size of our current capacity.
We never want lack of space to stand between someone and an encounter with Jesus. Our new auditorium will seat approximately 1,500 people, more than double our current capacity, while preserving the intimacy and connection that makes gathering at Soul City feel like Soul City.
More room means more invitations.More people worshiping together.More Holy Spirit encounters.
Transformation doesn’t only happen in rows. It happens in circles.
New and expanded spaces will create more opportunities for people to ask questions, deepen their faith, build meaningful relationships, and take their next step toward Jesus.
Because a growing church needs more than room to gather. We need room to grow together.
Sometimes the first step toward transformation is simply feeling like there is a place for you.
Our expanded campus will help us practice the radical hospitality that has always been central to Soul City, removing practical barriers and creating spaces that make it easier for people to come, connect, and stay.
We’ve been expecting you.There is room for you here.
We’re building for a generation that is still becoming who God created them to be.
Our expanded church will triple the square footage for Soul City Family spaces, creating dedicated environments for Kids and Students to encounter Jesus. And our current auditorium will become a space for Students and Young Adults, giving the next generation more room to grow.
Life gets hard. And when it does, we want Soul City to be one of the first places people know they can turn.
The House of Hope walks alongside people through some of life’s hardest moments. Our expanded campus creates greater capacity for the House of Hope and other care ministries to meet people in their pain and remind them they do not have to walk through it alone.
More room to listen.More room to care.More room to heal.More room for hope.
We have always believed Soul City exists for the people inside AND outside our walls.
As God expands our capacity, we believe He is also expanding our opportunity to love Chicago with greater generosity, partnership, and presence. We are called to be a good neighbor.
A church that notices.A church that listens.A church that serves.A church that shows up.
More room creates more opportunity to serve our neighbors and partner with organizations already doing extraordinary work.
More people being transformed means more people carrying the love of Jesus into their workplaces, schools, neighborhoods, and communities. Our prayer isn’t simply, “God, do Immeasurably More at Soul City.” It’s, “God, do Immeasurably More through Soul City.”
Buildings don’t transform people.
God does.
But spaces can create moments where people encounter Him.
Immeasurably More is the largest and most ambitious step of faith Soul City Church has ever taken. A handful of Soul City families have already prayed, listened, and responded with extraordinary generosity, and the commitments are still coming in.

Immeasurably More is more than a giving campaign. It’s a spiritual journey. So before you decide what you will give, begin with prayer.

Speak, Lord. I am listening. Show me what You want to do in me and through me. Lead me toward the step of faith You are inviting me to take.
God, I trust You.
I believe You are my provider. I believe You are able to do more than I can ask or imagine. Give me the faith to follow wherever You lead.
God, my answer is yes.
With joy, courage, and trust, I will take the step You are asking me to take and trust You with what comes next.
Ask what God is saying. Believe He will provide. Commit to following where He leads.
We aren’t going to tell you what your number should be. That’s between you and God. Instead, slow down. Listen. Pray. And allow generosity to become part of your spiritual formation.

Recently, the CDC shared new guidelines for wearing face masks in public and in indoor settings to promote safety in areas with substantial risks of transmission. Therefore, we are requiring that masks are worn while in the building on Sundays.
