What is the biggest thing you’re hoping for this Christmas?
Where has hope been hard for you this year?
How will you make the shift from Head Hope to Heart Hope this week?
HEAD HOPE VS. HEART HOPE
This week, Kelly explained the difference between Head Hope and Heart Hope. As you seek to receive hope from God at the heart level this week, use this image as a tool to remember where that hope comes from…
Psalm 100:5 For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Isaiah 40:29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Matthew 11:28-30 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
John 8:12 I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.
Prayer
Dear God, You are the God of hope And you invite me to rest in the reality of hope
This week, help me to look for hope beyond my situation, beyond my circumstances, beyond my own thoughts or the words of others
This week, help me to receive your hope Help me to treasure it, cling to it, and hold it in my heart
Jesus, thank you for making hope possible, even in the darkest of times I place my trust, my faith, and my hope in you today Amen
A quick message for those joining us in person this weekend:
Recently, the CDC shared new guidelines for wearing face masks in public and in indoor settings to promote safety in areas with substantial risks of transmission. Therefore, we are requiring that masks are worn while in the building on Sundays.
We are continuously reviewing the CDC guidelines and what our next steps will be – as your safety remains our priority.
